Where to take FREE Online Dance Classes!

Updated: Mar 18, 2020

Since Columbus DanceArts Academy is on an extended spring break, it is vital that dancers keep their bodies moving to continue their progression in dance technique. We will continue to find ways for you use those muscles so that when CDA classes return, you're good to get back to dancing!

CDA Company/Company Track Dancers, we highly encourage* you to keep dancing and take advantage of CLI Studios offering free online classes taught by notable dancers and choreographers. Starting on Monday, March 16th at 6pm, CLI Studios starts broadcasting and we hope you #keepdancing!

Tune in to www.clistudios.com/-keepdancing each day this week at the scheduled class time to take classes with your favorite choreographers! We will post each day the updated online class schedule with CLI Studios and hope you continue to keep those muscles working.

This article from Dancer Magazine lists several famous dancers who are broadcasting free ballet classes from their homes on Instagram! Check it out and take a class in your kitchen!

There is a NEW Instagram account created in the midst of this social isolation: Dancing Alone Together! It is an Instagram page dedicated to providing dancers with opportunities to keep practicing their dance technique and feel connected to the dance community while at home.

If you do decide to take some online classes, take a photo or video of you dancing and tag us! We'd love to see you #keepdancing!

*Videos posted on CDA Social Media are not a CDA requirement to use and are provided as an optional way of staying engaged with dance while the studio is closed due to COVID-19 .

CDA is not liable for at-home dance related injuries. If using dance videos, the individual must adjust movement to their individual level and space on their own.

To adjust the level of choreography to make it more doable :

-Dancers can move smaller,

-Do a only a short part of the combination,

-Learn an 8 count and do it slower to other music.*
